Grand Theft Auto บน Steam ได้ถอดถอน Games for Windows Live ออกและใช้ระบบ Rockstar Social Club เป็นที่เรียบร้อยแล้ว
Grand Theft Auto ส่วนเซฟเกมที่เล่นค้างไว้บนเครื่อง PC จาก GTA IV ตัวเดิม ก็จะสามารถนำมาเล่นต่อบนตัวเกมเวอร์ชันใหม่นี้ได้ด้วย (บน Rockstar Games Launcher มี Cloud Saves ให้ใช้ด้วย)
ในขณะที่ Steam Achievements สำหรับ GTA IV: Complete Edition จะยังไม่สามารถปลดได้ จนกว่าตัวเกมจะกลับมาวางจำหน่ายอีกครั้ง ตามกำหนดด้านล่างนี้.
19 มี.ค. – ผู้เล่นที่มี Grand Theft Auto IV หรือ GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City บน Steam จะสามารถลง GTA IV: Complete Edition ได้ และถอดถอนระบบ Games for Windows Live ออกไปแล้ว
24 มี.ค. GTA IV: Complete Edition จะกลับมาวางจำหน่ายอีกครั้งบน Steam และ Rockstar Games Launcher (ยังไม่ระบุราคา) ส่วนผู้เล่นที่มี CD Keys ของ Game for Windows Live จะสามารถนำมารีดีมเพื่อรับตัวเกมบน Rockstar Games Launcher ได้
เดือน เม.ย. – ผู้ที่ซื้อตัวเกม GTA IV หรือ GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City บนร้านค้า Games for Windows Live จะสามารถเชื่อมต่อกับ Social Club และเล่นผ่าน Rockstar Games Launcher ได้
นอกจากนี้สถานีวิทยุ RamJam FM, Self-Actualization FM, และ Vice City FM ในเกม จะไม่สามารถใช้งานได้ใน GTA IV: Complete Edition
